Yiwugo Celebrates Its 13th Anniversary Alongside the Grand Opening of Yiwu’s Gen-6 Market
YIWU, China, Oct. 24, 2025 — Yiwugo.com, the official website of the Yiwu Commodity Market and the world’s largest commodity wholesale market, today marked its 13th anniversary as Yiwu’s sixth-generation market (Gen-6) officially opened on Oct. 14, 2025. The new Yiwu Global Digital Trade Center spans approximately 1.25 million square meters and integrates five functional zones: a marketplace, business offices, a commercial district, residences and a digital trade port.
The marketplace alone covers about 410,000 square meters and houses more than 3,700 storefronts. Merchants represent eight emerging industries — including fashion jewelry, creative collectibles and smart devices — and 57% of vendors specialize in proprietary brands or IP-driven products. Built with cross-border digital networks, the Gen-6 market enables real-time communication and negotiations with international buyers and supports live-streaming functions so sellers can present products directly to global audiences.
With these capabilities, customers can experience products virtually as if in person, even from thousands of miles away, while international buyers visiting Yiwu benefit from enhanced online services that streamline purchasing and engagement.
Yiwugo began onboarding Gen-6 merchants as early as September 2025. Nearly 1,300 Gen-6 storefronts have already registered on the Yiwugo platform and uploaded close to 16,000 products. Yiwugo plans to continue expanding the marketplace catalog and merchant services for the new market.
In response to AI-driven shifts in traffic and consumer behavior, Yiwugo launched AI-powered shopping assistants across its website and mobile app in September 2025. These assistants answer buyers’ questions instantly, provide tailored purchasing recommendations and offer dedicated one-on-one support for premium storefronts. The upgrades aim to help merchants connect with higher-quality buyers and improve transaction conversion rates.
Many Gen-6 storefronts are upgraded outlets from Yiwugo’s premium merchants or independent brands launched by second-generation entrepreneurs. Storefronts feature IP-authorized brands, refined interiors, interactive photo spots and livestream-friendly setups. Several shops have started receiving orders immediately after opening.
For example, Guangyi Toys Co., Ltd., founded by Luo Guoqin — who has more than a decade of experience making crystal slime and foam glue — opened a Gen-6 storefront and received orders from American buyers soon after launch. Luo introduced a hamburger-shaped crystal slime set that is safe, non-toxic, glossy, soft and highly stretchable, packaged in a burger-shaped container. Guangyi’s milk-tea cup toy series remains a bestseller with annual sales exceeding RMB 4 million per model, and the combination of proven bestsellers and new offerings has attracted new clients and orders from major American retailers.
Opal Silver Jewelry, led by designer Xu Yuanyuan with 23 years in original silver jewelry design, opened boutiques in the Gen-6 market that combine refined interiors with live-streaming and on-site purchasing. Xu’s brand previously achieved viral success in cross-border e-commerce with designs such as the “Hug Ring” and skull-inspired accessories, reaching monthly sales of nearly 100,000 units for some designs. The brand’s “Broken Silver” series — now in its third release on Yiwugo — has posted conversion rates above 90% and monthly orders from individual customers totaling hundreds of thousands of yuan.
The combination of the Gen-6 market’s foreign merchant–friendly policies and Yiwugo’s technology and service upgrades has reinforced confidence among veteran entrepreneurs and new entrants alike.
As Yiwugo celebrates its 13th anniversary, the platform continues to evolve with intelligent upgrades that simplify transactions. With the opening of the Global Digital Trade Center, Yiwu market merchants are well positioned to create new commercial milestones in an increasingly digital, cross-border trading environment.
